“… 68 Likewise, COVID-19 has been associated with a dysregulated immune response with lymphopenia, which is secondary to the migration and sequestration of T lymphocytes in organs infected by SARS-CoV-2, mainly the lungs, and overactivation with subsequent depletion of T cells. 69 71 Both patients with mucormycosis with or without COVID-19 showed elevated activation and exhaustion of T lymphocytes. However, patients with non-COVID-19 mucormycosis showed greater exhaustion of CD4 HLADR, CD38, and LAG-3 T lymphocytes, which could explain the worse prognosis in this group of patients.…”

“…The monocyte levels were decreased from baseline to the end of the Vasa treatment. A meta-analysis by Ulloque-Badaracco et al reported that a total of 11,356 patients from 31 cohort studies had lower AGR in severe COVID-19 and non-survivors than non-severe COVID-19 patients [ 45 , 46 ]. Our clinical trial findings also suggest that Vasa and combination of Vasa and Guduchi treated groups showed an increase in AG ratio and subsequently decreased Globulin levels.…”

“…Overall, these data seem to indicate that those patients with better protein nutrition will present a better response to rehabilitation treatment, as described [ 41 ]. Moreover, some studies [ 42 , 43 ] have linked higher albumin levels and lower globulin levels with a favorable prognosis for COVID-19. Further studies should validate this observation.…”
