Prognostic value of expression levels of miR‑148a, miR‑152 and HLA‑G in colon cancer

Abstract: Aberrant expression of human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G), an immunosuppressive molecule, has been observed in various cancer types. The exact mechanism of HLA-G expression is unclear. HLA-G expression is associated with low expression levels of microRNA (miR)-148a and miR-152. To the best of our knowledge, the prognostic value of the expression levels of miR-148a, miR-152 and HLA-G has not been investigated in colon cancer. The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between the presence o… Show more

“…After a systematic search, 298 articles were retrieved from the four databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Library). After exclusion of ineligible studies, 13 studies were included in this meta-analysis [ 18 , 19 , 24 34 ]. Among the 13 studies, 3 included patients with colon cancer only, 1 study looked at rectal cancer, and the remaining 9 were related to CRC.…”

“…2 d) on DFS showed that HLA-G expression was not linked to DFS. The data from 2 studies (Kirana et al [ 26 ] and Emirzeoglu et al [ 34 ]) with 362 patients were pooled, and the results demonstrated that high HLA-G expression was associated with shorter CSS in patients with CRC (HR = 2.76, 95% CI = 1.23–6.21, P = 0.014) (Fig. 2 e).…”

“…Данный белок присутствует в цитотоксических гранулах Т-лимфоцитов и натуральных клеток-киллеров, обладая противомикробной активностью, что может объяснить более частые нарушения микробиоты в старшей возрастной группе. Участие в этом молекулярном каскаде гена-онкосупрессора P14ARF позволяет предположить повышенную митогенную стимуляцию в этой группе и инициацию апоптоза p53-зависимого клеточного цикла [19].…”
