Projectile-target search algorithm: a stochastic metaheuristic optimization technique

Abstract: This paper proposes a new stochastic metaheuristic optimization algorithm which is based on kinematics of projectile motion and called projectile-target search (PTS) algorithm. The PTS algorithm employs the envelope of projectile trajectory to find the target in the search space. It has 2 types of control parameters. The first type is set to give the possibility of the algorithm to accelerate convergence process, while the other type is set to enhance the possibility to generate new better projectiles for sear… Show more

“…In [17], [18] the total number of switches used are 8 and the voltage levels produced are 7 and 11 respectively. In [27] the converter produces 7 level of output voltage with 11 switches. The converter used in this paper requires only seven switches for producing an 11-level output.…”

“…The simulation studies show that the proposed algorithm offers high accuracy. Hiendro [17] proposes a new algorithm for metaheuristic optimization based on projectile mobility kinematics and is called projectile-target search (PTS) algorithm. PTS algorithm uses envelope projectile trajectory to find the target in the search space.…”

“…In recent times, scheduling of timetabling [1,2] has gained considerable importance and has witnessed rapid growth due to its significant role in the success of school [3,4], university [5,6] and examination timetable placements [7]. Given the different challenges facing each of these sectors, designing an appropriate algorithm for each will contribute to solving its challenges separately.…”
