Prolonged watery diarrhea and malnutrition caused by Aliarcobacter butzleri (formerly Arcobacter butzleri): the first pediatric case in Croatia and a literature review

Abstract: Aliarcobacter butzleri (formerly Arcobacter butzleri), is a newly recognized Campylobacter-like emerging foodborne pathogen worldwide, usually causing gastrointestinal symptoms in young children. A 4-year-old boy was admitted to the Department of Pediatrics, University Hospital of Split, Croatia, because of malnutrition, lost appetite and prolonged watery diarrhea.
