At the 5th Asian Federation of Therapeutic Communities (AFTC) Conference in Bangkok in 2002 and in a 2003 report to the United States Department of State on drug treatment programs in Southeast Asia, Danya International, a company evaluating public health programs, found PERTAPIS and other Southeast Asian TCs to not only fulfill the mission of a TC but also recommended them as a Promising Practice model for effectively operating a halfway house and reentry program (12).…”
