Prompt J/ψ production in association with a top quark pair at the LHC

Abstract: In this work, we investigate the prompt J/ψ production in associated with top quark pair to leading order in the nonrelativistic QCD factorization formalism at the LHC with √ s = 13 TeV. In addition to the contribution from direct J/ψ production, we also include the indirect contribution from the directly produced heavier charmmonia χcJ and ψ . We present the numerical results for the total and differential cross sections and find that the 3 S (8) 1 states give the dominant contributions. The prompt ttJ/ψ sign… Show more

“…We further consider the final Higgs boson decaying into b b. For the b-jets, applying the cuts of p b T > 20 GeV, |η b | < 2.5, and considering the branching ratio Br(H → b b) = 58.14% [67] and b-tagging efficiency ǫ b = 77% [68], we can get the cross section from S2 as 11.12 (5.7) fb for the direct (indirect) production of J/ψ associated with Higgs boson via gg fusion. Therefore, the cross section of prompt J/ψ + H with Higgs boson decaying into b b can reach about 18 fb even after considering the kinematical constraints on the Higgs in experiments.…”
