Propagation Properties of Finite Olver-Gaussian Beams Passing through a Paraxial ABCD Optical System

Abstract: In this paper, an exact analytical propagation formula of Finite Olver-Gaussian Beams (FOGBs) passing through a paraxial ABCD optical system is developed and some numerical examples are performed. The propagation properties of the FOGBs through general optical systems characterized by given ABCD matrix are studied on the basis of the generalized Huygens-Fresnel diffraction integral, which permits to show the behavior of this laser beams family and its properties depending of the laser parameters. “…It has been shown in this note that the work in [10] is valid only for 0 m = , which coincides with the Airy solution. Unfortunately, the mistakes in [10] have been carried over to the work by Hennani et al [12] on the propagation of Olver-Gauss functions through an optical ABCD system, and by Hennani et al [14] on the action of the radiation DOI: 10.4236/opj.2019.91001 forces produced by a highly focused finite-energy Olver-Gaussian beam on a Rayleigh dielectric sphere.…”
