Properties and application of jute fiber reinforced polymer-based composites

Abstract: Natural fiber composite is the novel materials in recent decades having a high strength to weight ratio and light in weight are widely used for structural and unstructured applications. Jute fiber is one of the most common biodegradable natural fibers which successfully replaced the synthetic fibers composite and also replaced glass fiber where the high strength is not obliged. Jute is grown in tropical countries and is one of the strongest bast fibers with low cost. Jute fiber composite has several attractive… Show more

“…The leather-like mechanical strength is updated by integrating jute fabric and adopting a sandwich concept [11]. Jute fibers are used to make fabrics that have notable natural fiber benefits such as acceptable strength qualities, low cost, lightweight, high stiffness, and favorable heat resistance properties compared to pricey synthetic fibers [12]. The materials are combined by the polymerization of the polymeric materials by natural rubber.…”

“…Jute is a naturally long, soft and shiny biodegradable fiber with advantages such as high tensile strength, excellent thermal conductivity [1]. Jute fiber is a bast fiber obtained from the bark of jute plant composed of mainly cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin [2,3] that's why it is commonly called as lignocellulosic fibre. Bangladesh, China, and India are the three major producers in the cultivation or production of jute fibre [4].…”
