“…A limited number of studies have been carried out using paper sludge ashes as a precursor for alkali‐activated cements. Yan et al identified that the partial substitution of fly ash with dried (uncalcined) paper sludge reduced the workability and compressive strength of the alkali‐activated cements; however, it did promote a refinement of the pore structure which led to a reduced drying shrinkage of the material. Antunes Boca Santa et al produced alkali‐activated calcined paper sludge cements blended with coal bottom ashes, as the calcined paper sludge utilised was partially crystalline and not highly reactive.…”
