Purpose. The main purpose of the work is to reduce the time for analysis and increase the efficiency of processing statistical information on assessing the locomotive fleet operation through the use of methods to reduce the data dimensionality. Methodology. To conduct the study, the methodology for constructing an arbitrary process index was chosen. Using the methodology allows selecting from the total set of parameters those components that are the most informative. Using the method of hierarchies analysis based on the obtained main components, it is possible to construct a single generalizing indicator. Findings. The approaches to improving the existing system of indicators for accounting the operation of locomotives were analyzed. The expediency of using dimensionality reduction methods to analyze the locomotive operation was substantiated. Using the method of main components, the most informative indicators of locomotive operation and the degree of their influence on the general level of traffic safety in locomotive economy, the implementation of the maintenance system are determined. The examples of the analysis of locomotive economy indicators using the proposed methodology, index of performance of maintenance system, traffic safety indices and operational safety in locomotive economy are given. The locomotive economy was analyzed through a joint review of the proposed integrated indices, as well as quantitative and qualitative indicators of the locomotive use. The difference between these indicators shows a deterioration or improvement in the traffic safety state, taking into account the volume of work performed. Increase in the operational traffic safety coefficient over the safety index shows a deterioration in the traffic safety state, despite a decrease in the absolute values of indicators characterizing the level of traffic safety in locomotive economy. Originality. For the first time, it was proposed to evaluate the traffic safety state in locomotive economy through the difference between the traffic safety and operational safety indices. Practical value. To analyze the operation of locomotive fleet, it is advisable to use the methods to reduce the data dimensionality. To assess the traffic safety state, it is more advisable to use the operational safety index, since it takes into account the volumetric performance indicators of locomotive economy.

When organizing transport processes on the railway, the most important component is the safety of railway traffic. Each country has a separate approach for assessing the safety of railway traffic on domestic railways. However, railway safety and other modes of transport is associated with technical or managerial risks. Assessment of the safety condition of traffic on Ukrainian railways is carried out by absolute and specific indicators resulting from statistical data. So far as the existing methodology for assessing the level of railway traffic safety does not provide a real and adequate picture, the problem of developing a risk system is relevant. The paper presents a risk system for assessing the level of actual and predicted safety of railway traffic. The risk system includes general, local, technological and technical risks. Each risk has a quantitative characteristic and can be applied to assess the safety of the railway traffic. The developed risk system is implemented as an application program and implemented at the railway enterprises of Ukraine. The presented system of risks and their posterior and priori values allow us to characterize the real state of railway traffic safety for the study period. Based on the obtained values of posteriori and priori risks, it is possible to characterize the actual and predicted safety of the railway traffic.

Integral Assessment of the State of Railway Train Safety During Technical Audit

Purpose. The research aims at developing an integrated assessment of the state of train safety at the railway during technical audit. Methodology. To develop an integrated assessment of the safety condition of train traffic at the railway during technical audit, it was proposed to use weight coefficients proportional to the impact of the negative consequences of catastrophes, accidents, incidents that characterize the state of train traffic safety violations at the railways. It was also suggested an orientation to the main indicators of train traffic safety in Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, which include: material damage, the number of traffic safety violations and technical equipment failures. Findings. The authors have developed an integrated assessment of the train safety state in the conditions of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, which is a complex value designed to assess the overall level of traffic safety during technical audit. The authors also obtained models for the integrated assessment of train safety in Ukrzaliznytsia JSC with weight coefficients that allow more adequately reflecting the state of safety. These models can be used during technical audit of the entire railway, its individual enterprise or organization to find out the real threats and risks that have already arisen, and which need to be paid more attention to ensure a higher level of train safety. Originality. The authors firstly proposed, when conducting a technical audit, to use the developed models for an integrated assessment of train safety in Ukrzaliznytsia JSC with weight coefficients that allow us to assess the overall level of traffic safety and establish real threats and risks. Practical value. Based on the obtained models, for an integral assessment of train safety, technical audit of the entire railway or its separate unit can be performed with the proposal to implement appropriate measures to influence existing sources of danger in order to reduce risks and increase the local or general level of train traffic safety.
