In this work, the models and techniques used to study the electromagnetic properties of the A=50 mass region nuclei are presented. To study these nuclei, on-line gamma-ray spectroscopy was carried out with the gamma ray spectrometers GASP and Saci-Pererê. The experiments were performed with the 15 MV XTU accelerator of the Legnaro National Laboratories, Italy and the 8 MV Pelletron accelerator of the Open Nuclear Physics Laboratory of the Physics Institute of the University of São Paulo. These studies are focussed on nuclear structure determination through level scheme construction and the measurement of electromagnetic properties of the excited nuclear states. For a better understanding of nuclear structure, basic Shell Model concepts are presented, in particular, Large Scale Shell Model techniques, emphasizing the three pillars for the development of a good shell model: an appropriate conguration space, a residual interaction as realistic as possible, and a computation code capable of solving the problem. A detailed description of the concepts which involve nuclear electromagnetic properties is presented, as well as the description of the Doppler Shift Attenuation (DSAM) lifetime measurement technique. To exemplify the most important characteristics of some of the nuclei studied, the nuclear structure and the electromagnetic properties of the even-even nucleus 48 Cr and the odd-odd nuclei 46,48 V and 58 Co, interpreted in the framework of the Large Scale Shell Model, are discussed. Uma extensão do Modelo de Camadas é o Modelo de Camadas de Larga Escala (LSSM)que trata a interação residual entre os núcleons microscopicamente através de uma interação de dois corpos [6,7,8,9,10]. O LSSM tem sido usado, com muito sucesso, na previsão dos estados observados das bandas yrast, assim como dos estados das bandas de paridade não natural em núcleos com núcleons de valência ocupando o meio da camada 1f 7/2 [11,12,13,14,15,16]. Em vários desses núcleos foram encontradas bandas coletivas rotacionais, apresentando deformações prolatas em baixos momentos angulares, evoluindo para formas esféricas na terminação da banda, que corresponde ao spin máximo disponível no 15 espaço de congurações. Existe um grande interesse na vericação dessas previsões também para as propriedades eletromagnéticas desses estados, por ser um teste muito mais rigoroso das previsões dos modelos.
