Abstract:A water quality index (WQI) is a way to represent complex water quality data and communicate it to the general public. This paper represents an overview of the CCME WQI method. The considered method incorporates three main elements, the number of variables not meeting water quality objectives (scope), the number of times these objectives are not met (frequency), and the amount by which the objectives are not met (amplitude).
