ÖZ. Bu araştırmada, okul öncesi eğitim alan 48-60 aylık çocukların, öğretmen algılarını çizdikleri resimler aracılığıyla ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgubilim kullanılarak yürütülen araştırmada, amaçsal örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak çalışma grubu oluşturulmuştur. Kastamonu merkez ilçede yer alan üç anaokulu ve 12 anasınıfında ölçütlere uyan toplam 285 çocuğa ulaşılmış, ön inceleme sonucunda 11 çocuğa ait çizimler uygun olmadığı için çıkarılmış ve toplam 274 çocuk ile çalışma grubu oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler Aykaç (2012) tarafından geliştirilen 'Öğretmen Algı Kodlama Listesi' ne göre analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, çocukların büyük bir çoğunluğu öğretmenlerini insan ve kadın olarak algılamaktadır. Çocuklar öğretmenlerini en çok kırda ve okul bahçesinde ayakta dururken resmetmiştir. Effective child-teacher relation have an important effect on building positive class environment and also have important effect on social development of the children. Purpose of this research is to show the 48-60 months old children's perceptions of teacher concept by analyzing their drawings. Phenomenology, one of the qualitative research design was used in this study. The working group was created by using the sampling method of purposeful sampling criteria. 285 children in 12 preschool has been reached in Kastamonu Center District; drawings of 11 children are seen as not suitable pre-examination, and they are excluded, thus the research group was made by 274 children. Obtained data have analyzed with Teacher Perception Coding List developed by Aykaç (2012). According to research results, majority of the children are perceiving their teachers as female humans. Children have drawn their teacher mostly in the prairies and as standing in the school yards.

“Teacher” from the Children’s Perspective: A Study by Metaphors

The purpose of this study is to determine the perception of teachers by 10 year-old primary school childrens by the metaphors they developed. The sample covers totally 441 children [224 females (50.8%) and 217 males (49.2%)] living in Izmir, Turkey. Participants were asked to complete the prompt "Teacher is like…, because…''. In identifying their perceptions, the qualitative research model (Holloway & Wheeler, 2002) was utilized, which contributes to the investigation of the individual's perceptions, feelings, and experiences within the framework of Phenomenological design. At the end of the research female students produced 52 metaphors, and males did 44 for teacher images. However, 7 metaphors were commonly created by both genders. They were categorized in 8 conceptual themes. The children's perceptions of "teacher" were clustered especially in the conceptual theme of Family Member (25%) and Warm-hearted Person (8%), with emotional and relational feelings which can be explained by the children's attachment relations (Sabol & Pianta, 2012), that are similar for their families and their teachers. Gender was found to be significantly related with the images of teachers.

Employing metaphor analysis, the present studyexplores the nature of unconscious beliefs of PhD students. This research aimsat analyzing the metaphors produced by Iranian PhD students about learning and teaching in both current and ideal situations. Using the Iranian context of education, this study intended to: first, collecting the metaphors the students created by using the prompts "A university student is/should be like a..." and "A university professor is/should be like a... ". Second, identifying and analyzing the metaphors. The results revealed thatPhD university students concur with forming the foundation of learning and teaching based on situativelearning concepts. Finally, the results were discussed in the context of language learning and teaching.
