ÖzetAmaç: Bu çal›flmada oküler ve sistemik bir hastal›¤› olmayan, sa¤l›kl›, genç, erkek popülasyonda ultrason biyomikroskopi yöntemi ile ön kamara aç›s›na ait nicel de¤erlerin saptanmas› amaçlanm›flt›r.
Gereç ve Yöntem:Otuzsekiz erkek olguya ait 38 göz çal›flmaya dahil edilmifltir. Tüm olgular›n ultrason biyomikroskopi muayeneleri standart koflullar sa¤lanarak, ayn› kifli taraf›ndan yap›lm›flt›r.
Material and Method:In this study, 38 eyes of 38 male subjects were included. Ultrasound biomicroscopy examinations were always performed by the same person under standardized environment and conditions. At each session, axial images of anterior chamber and radial sections of the angle at the lateral quadrant were taken. Angle parameters were obtained by UBM Pro2000® software. Results: The mean age of the subjects was 21.3±0.9 years, ranging from 21 to 26 years and all of the subjects were male. It was observed that the mean central axial anterior chamber depth was 3.25±0.26 mm, mean angle recess area was 0.167±0.020 mm 2 , mean angle opening distance at 250 microns was 0.174±0.032 mm, mean angle opening distance at 500 microns was 0.223±0.013 mm, and the mean scleral spur-iris root distance was 0.269±0.052 mm in our subjects. Discussion: Ultrasound biomicroscopy gives either qualitative or quantitative information about anterior segment structures. Determination of the quantitative normal values of anterior chamber angle may help us to evaluate and follow this area objectively. The quantitative data belonging to healthy young male patients provided by this study may be used as reference values for future studies that can be performed in our country.
