Abstract:The gravitational-wave detections of binary black hole mergers suggest the possibility of detecting gravitational-waves from binaries consisting of compact stars in the near future. During the merger, the compact stars leave their footprints on the gravitational-wave signals through their tidal deformability. Therefore, the detections of these signals can constrain the equation of state of ultra-dense matter. We present the prospects of constraining the nuclear equation of state with gravitational-wave signals… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
