Abstract:Prostatic specific antigen (PSA) screening has been controversial since its inception. Controversy has persisted despite more and higher quality clinical evidence. Attention to lead and length time biases, overdiagnosis, overtreatment, medicalisation, iatrogenesis and financial conflict of interest has had limited impact.
