Prosthetic rehabilitation of amputated hallux after distraction osteogenesis

Abstract

Distraction osteogenesis of the amputated hallux improved prosthetic prognosis by aiding retention. Modifications were made in the conventional prosthesis fabrication technique to increase retention, as the hallux is in constant movement and/or friction.
