However, other studies 82,83 that used a similar ex vivo culture system (celiac ganglion‐superior ovarian nerve‐ovarian system) and DO system reported no difference between controls during diestrus. It is therefore possible that the neural control of ovarian pro/antiapoptotic processes depends on the phase of the cycle, being more important during estrus, when drastic changes in ovarian histoarchitecture occur.…”
