“…The up-regulation of phosphoglycerate kinase ( pgk ), a crucial enzyme in glycolysis, accelerates the catalysis of the 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate, which serves as a precursor of lipoteichoic acid and mediate the characteristics of S-layer protein ( Cai et al, 2020 ). Glycogenesis and glycolysis are the main pathways for energy acquisition in bacteria cells, during which glucose is catalyzed to produce pyruvate and energy, and pyruvate can be further reduced to lactate ( Wu et al, 2016 ). It can be speculated that the enhanced cellular ATP and pyruvate synthesis supports higher survival rates of bacteria.…”

“…Aldehyde-alcohol dehydrogenase (adhE, D7VE84) was significantly upregulated in this study, perhaps promoting the production of ATP and NAD + during pyruvate metabolism when Salmonella sp. D194-2 was exposed to CIN (Wu et al, 2016 ).…”

“…The high specificity could be ascribed to the fact that only L. casei cells can be simultaneously recognized by the 2 aptamers and resulted in fluorescent signals for detection. For L. plantarum, fluorescent intensity higher than that of other 4 reference bacteria was observed, a phenomenon that was probably caused by the partially shared membrane protein motif between L. casei and L. plantarum (Shao et al, 2015;Wu et al, 2016). However, this fluorescent intensity was particularly low in comparison to that rendered by L. casei cells, ensuring the detection specificity of the established strategy.…”
