Abstract:Under considerations in the current study are reactions of the type ½Mn LOH ðwhere the ligand LOH represents water or/and methanol. Preferential proton transfer reactions and loss of any ligand fragments are discussed in the light of ligand polarizability, dipole moment, dissociation energy, proton affinity, differences in ligand-ion ionization energy, and ion radii. The results indicate the proton affinity and dissociation energy of the O-H bond are more important for the overall proton transfer reaction than… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
