PRP of T2DM Patient Immobilized on PCL Nanofibers Stimulate Endothelial Cells Proliferation

Abstract: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are a common complication of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Development of bioactive wound healing covers is an important task in medicine. The use of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) consisting of growth factors, cytokines and components of extracellular matrix is a perspective approach for DFU treatment, but we previously found that some T2DM PRP samples have a toxic effect on mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in vitro. Here, we covalently immobilized T2DM PRP proteins on polyca… Show more

“…Traditional modification methods for PCL materials include RGD surface modification [ 43 ], platelet-rich plasma coating [ 44 ], Polydopamine coating [ 45 ]. However, these methods often involve expensive reagents and complex procedures, making it challenging to translate them to clinical applications [ 46 ].…”

“…A plasma-deposited layer of acrylic acid enhanced the adhesion of platelet-rich plasma onto polycaprolactone fibers. The inclusion of the acid groups enhanced cell adhesion and proliferation [49]. In addition to the materials described above, plasma-deposited allylamine enhanced the adhesion of functional proteins onto ceramic dental implants [50], thereby demonstrating the wide range of materials that can be treated with such an approach.…”
