Abstract: Design and method: In this cross-sectional study, we analyzed 1,737 predialysis CKD patients enrolled in the prospective Korean Cohort Study for Outcome in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease (KNOW-CKD). Apparent treatment-resistant hypertension was defined as systolic blood pressure > = 140 mm Hg or diastolic blood pressure > = 90 mm Hg with concurrent use of three antihypertensive medication classes or use of four or more antihypertensive medication classes regardless of blood pressure level.
