Abstract:Bodies initially thought to be spirochaetes were observed in the ascites of mice injected intraperitoneally with Bacillus aneurinolyticus (KA bacillus). Electron microscopy revealed that these bodies were in fact 'pseudospirochaetes' originating from the flagellar bundles of the bacilli.
