Abstract:Pregnancy-specific glycoproteins are secreted by immunoglobulin superfamily members encoded by multigene families in eutherian mammals with haemochorial placentation. They are expressed predominantly in placental trophoblast and exhibit immunomodulatory, anti-platelet, and pro-angiogenic functions.
