CONCLUSIONS: Qualitative research indicates that AML patients experience multiple disturbing symptoms that affect their lives; these symptoms and impacts should be discussed with treating clinicians. This research also highlights the need for effective and well-tolerated treatments. Additional research that explores factors influencing these symptoms in both clinical trial and practice settings should be conducted.
