AU T HOR BIOGR A PH YSimon Katterl is an independent researcher and consultant with lived experience of mental health issues. With completed degrees in law, politics and psychology, as well as ongoing studies in a Master of Regulation and Governance, he focuses on the intersection of human rights, regulation and mental health. Simon previously has previously worked at the Mental Health Complaints Commissioner, the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission, Victoria Legal Aid, the Victorian Mental Illness Awareness Council, and has advised the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System.
