“…The above results relating to the relationship between compliance with the therapy, participation, alliance with the parents, and the patient's clinical progress are consistent with a number of published studies dealing with these topics. The alliance with the parents proved to be a sine qua non for undertaking any therapeutic intervention with their children and for this to be successful (Gatta et al, 2005b(Gatta et al, , 2009b(Gatta et al, , 2010c(Gatta et al, , 2011Marcelli, 2009). Some authors emphasize that treating young patients it is very important to deal with their parents too (Diamond & Josephson, 2005;Hawley & Weisz, 2005, Nock & Ferriter, 2005Nock & Kazdin, 2005), particularly when the young patients have behavioral disorders (Kazdin et al, 2006;Schaeffer & Borduin, 2005) like many of the patients attending our semiresidential service.…”
