“…In the meantime, measures to assess CDS traits among adults have emerged and been psychometrically validated. Two measures have been used primarily: the Barkley Adult ADHD Rating Scale-IV (BAARS-IV; Sluggish Cognitive Tempo subscale [37]; four studies: Refs [38][39][40][41]) or the Adult Concentration Inventory [15,17,18]. For the English BAARS-IV, a three-factor solution was observed for the American-English version [39,40]; a two-factor solution was observed for the Turkish version [41], and a four-factor solution was observed for the Japanese version [38].…”

“…Barkley Adult Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT) Scale (CDS) : This self-report scale was developed by Barkley by selecting symptom sets used in previous studies of CDS in children and adolescents (Barkley, 2012). The Turkish validity and reliability study of the scale was conducted by Gul and Gul (2022), and as a result of their analyses, the authors removed item 9 of the scale. The scale has a two-factor structure, including Daydreaming and Sluggishness.…”

“…There are some studies on CDS symptoms in children and adolescents in Turkey (Başay et al, 2021; Ekinci et al, 2021; Gozpinar et al, 2022), but there are only three studies in adults. One of these studies was a psychometric study on the scores from the Barkley Adult SCT Scale (Gül & Gül, 2022), one investigated the relationship between CDS and burn‐out symptoms in psychiatrists (Gül et al, 2017), and the third evaluated the association between childhood CDS, substance use disorder, substance‐induced psychosis, and childhood ADHD (Gül, 2019). Evaluation of the transcultural validity of CDS symptoms in the adult population would contribute to further to the validity of CDS.…”
