Psychometrician

Abstract

Psychometrician is a person trained to administer and score neuropsychological and psychological tests under the supervision of a licensed neuropsychologist or psychologist. Psychometricians also observe the client's behavior during testing. They do not interpret tests; this is the domain of the neuropsychologist or psychologist. They have at least a bachelor's degree and may be certified but are not typically licensed. Given the lack of standardized credentialing and different interpretations of the law, a psychometrician's role and scope of practice can vary from state to state. National neuropsychologists' organizations have established recommendations for the use, education, training, and supervision of psychometricians.
