Psychosocial Challenges of Elderly Patients Coping With Cancer

Abstract: The objective of discussion is to stimulate healthcare professionals to deepen knowledge and understanding of the difficulties, challenges, and developmental tasks of elderly patients coping with cancer. Current research suggests that the psychological impact of cancer is less negative among the elderly, compared with younger patients (such as easier adjustment process).
