PtPd Nanonets Derived from Pd@PtPd RDs as High-Performance Catalysts for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction

Abstract: Pt-based nanoframes with unique morphologies are one of the most promising catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). In this study, stacked Pd@PtPd core−shell rhombic dodecahedrons (Pd@PtPd RDs) were obtained by a solvothermal method, and then PtPd nanonets (PtPd NNs) were formed by etching of Pd@PtPd RDs with Fe(NO 3 ) 3 and HNO 3 . Combining the time-dependent changes of morphology, atomic ratio, and elemental distribution, the formation mechanism of PtPd NNs was explored. According to the electroch… Show more

To prove its excellent ORR properties, the CV curves of the 0.1 M KOH solution were scanned at a rate of 50 mV s −1 to calculate the electrochemical active surface areas (ECSAs).…”

“…The electrochemical equipment and the selected electrodes were the same with our previous studies. [40,41] The electrochemical experiments were carried in 0.1 M HClO 4 or 0.1 M KOH. The CO-stripping curves were scanned from 0.1 to 1.2 V vs. RHE with a scan rate of 50 mV s À 1 in N 2 -saturated HClO 4 .…”
