Publication rates of podium and poster abstract presentations at the 2010 and 2011 society of gynecologic oncology conferences

Abstract: ObjectiveThis study aimed to determine the publication rate of oral and poster abstracts presented at the 2010 and 2011 Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) conferences as well as the journals that most commonly published these studies, their 5-year impact factor, the time to publication, and the reasons for nonpublication.MethodsAbstracts presented at the 2010–2011 SGO conferences were included in this study. “…Similar to other annual scientific meetings, all abstracts submitted for presentation at the ORS annual meeting undergo rigorous peer review and are considered for podium or poster presentations. Podium presentations, compared to poster presentations, are considered to be of higher scientific impact and are more likely to reach publication .
