Publisher’s Note: Novel inclusive search for the Higgs boson in the four-lepton final state at CDF [Phys. Rev. D86, 072012 (2012)]

Abstract: An inclusive search for the standard model Higgs boson using the four-lepton final state in protonantiproton collisions produced by the Tevatron at √ s = 1.96 TeV is conducted. The data are recorded by the CDF II detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 9.7 fb −1 . Three distinct Higgs decay modes, namely ZZ, WW, and τ τ , are simultaneously probed. Nine potential signal events are selected and found to be consistent with the background expectation. We set a 95% credibility limit on the productio… Show more

“…and the experimental data (41)-(44) and the top quark mass M T = 173.36 ± 0.72 GeV, that was computed in refs. [31] and [32], we find this function (see Figure 2). It was shown in [34] that the resulting minima and masses are relatively independent of the precise choice of the mass parameter M , as long as the potential (54) is used.…”

“…The region of small transverse distances b T , on the other hand, is investigated via pertur-bative resummations to next-to-next-to-leading accuracy [29,[131][132][133] and computations through two loops [134][135][136][137][138] of the perturbative coefficient functions controlling the expansion of the TMDs in terms of collinear pdfs. All these aspects are relevant for the interpretation of the production spectra at low transverse momenta q T , both in high-energy Drell-Yan experiments at LHC and Tevatron [139][140][141][142][143][144][145] and in fixed-target experiments [146][147][148], including polarized Drell-Yan and semi-inclusive DIS [149,150].…”
