Investigations of the electon emission of (Ba, Pb)TiO3 ceramics and BaTiO3 single crystals induced by bipolar sinusoidal and rectangulr‐shaped electric field or dc electric field, in the vicinity of their phase transitions, are performed. The differences in the electron emission behaviour between (Ba, Pb)TiO3 ceramics and BaTiO3 single crystals covered with a strip‐shaped electrode, on the one hand, and between BaTiO3 crystal samples with free emitting sample surface and emitting surface covered by a comb‐shaped electrode, on the other hand, are evidenced. The mechanisms of this electron emission are discussed.
