Pulsed laser deposition of

Abstract: We have investigated the crystallinity of BaTiO 3 (BTO) thin films on (100)MgO and (100)STO substrates and the YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−x (YBCO) buffer on MgO. An ArF excimer laser with a fluence 1.4 to 3.6 J cm −2 per pulse was used of the preparation of BTO films at substrate temperatures in 500 to 800 • C and oxygen pressures of 10 −4 to 10 −6 Torr. BTO thin films with (001) orientation were grown on (100)MgO and (100)STO. The crystallinity of BTO on MgO depended on the substrate temperature. We have investigated the… Show more

“…The laser beam, shaped through a rectangular slit, was introduced at an incidence angle of 30 • relative to the target surface. The PLD apparatus used in this work was the same as that used in earlier work [14]. The laser fluence at the surface of the target was estimated to be 0.2-1.0 J cm −2 and the laser spot size was 2.7 × 1.2 mm 2 .…”
