Abstract:Serum paraoxonase (PON1) is a high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-associated enzyme that protects lipoproteins, both low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and HDL, against oxidation, and is considered as an antioxidative/anti-inflammatory component of HDL.
