PVDF-directed synthesis, stability and anion exchange of cesium lead bromide nanocrystals

Abstract: Photoluminescent perovskite nanocrystals are mostly used along with base materials such as polymers for material processing and large-scale production purpose. However, the role of polymer in crystal structure engineering and thereby dictating the emission properties of lead halide perovskite nanocrystals is poorly understood. First, we have developed a polymer-directed antisolvent method for synthesis of halide perovskite crystals at room temperature. The thermodynamic stabilities of crystals drive the format… Show more

“…It is worth noting that polymeric additives can be an effective method to mitigate the above-mentioned drawbacks of MHPs. Some polymeric materials, such as polystyrene (PS) [78], poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) [74,78,80], poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) [81][82][83], polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) [84], and polyaniline (PANI) [85,86], have been used as protective polymer films in PSCs. These polymers have been used to not only passivate the surface defects but also block atmospheric moisture, which improves the stability of PSCs even in high-humidity environments.…”

“…In recent years, all-inorganic halide perovskites nanocrystals (PNCs) have emerged at the forefront of materials research for their impressive photovoltaic performance and attractive optical and electronic properties [11,12]. It has been extensively studied in various applications such as solar cells [13,14], lasers [15,16], photodetectors [17,18], photocatalysts [19,20], and lightemitting diodes (LEDs) [21,22].…”
