Q-switched erbium-doped fiber ring laser with piezoelectric transducer-based PS-CFBG

Abstract: In this letter, a Q-switched erbium-doped fiber ring laser (EDFRL) with piezoelectric transducer (PZT)-based phase shift chirped fiber Bragg grating (PS-CFBG) has been proposed and demonstrated first. As known, the phase shift can be induced and wiped periodically by applying a modulation signal on the PZT. This makes it possible for the PZT-based PS-CFBG to be used in Q-switched EDFRL.
