The Q‑switched Nd:YAG laser is an established modality of treatment for epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions, tattoo removal and acne. The dual wavelengths of 1064nm and 532nm are suited for the darker skin tones encountered in India. Despite having treated several indications with Q‐switched Nd:YAG laser, its detailed guidelines have not been reported to date. This article highlights the basics of Q‑switched Nd:YAG laser and its detailed guidelines.
