QCD Corrections toe+eJ/ψ+ggatBFactories

Abstract: In heavy quarkonium production, the measured ratio R_{cc[over ]}=sigma[J/psi+cc[over ]+X]/sigma[J/psi+X] at B factories is much larger than existing theoretical predictions. To clarify this discrepancy, in nonrelativistic QCD we find the next-to-leading-order (NLO) QCD correction to e;{+}e;{-}-->J/psi+gg can enhance the cross section by about 20%. Together with the calculated NLO result for e;{+}e;{-}-->J/psi+cc[over ], we show that the NLO corrections can significantly improve the fit to the ratio R_{cc[over … Show more

“…As a result, we expect a complete NLO calcula- tion of J/ψ production is necessary and sufficient to give a reasonable description of the experiment data. Currently, while J/ψ production in two-photon collisions at CERN LEP2 [22] and photoproduction at DESY HERA [23][24][25] are shown to favor the presence of CO contribution, the J/ψ production at B factories is described well using NLO CS model and leaves little room for the CO contributions [26][27][28][29]. J/ψ production in association with a W -boson or Z 0 -boson at the LHC is also studied [30].…”
