QCD corrections to triboson production

Abstract: We present a computation of the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the production of three Z bosons at the LHC. We calculate these corrections using a completely numerical method that combines sector decomposition to extract infrared singularities with contour deformation of the Feynman parameter integrals to avoid internal loop thresholds. The NLO QCD corrections to pp → ZZZ are approximately 50%, and are badly underestimated by the leading order scale dependence. However, the kinematic dependence of th… Show more

“…Second, in this review we did not talk about attempts to design a framework where one-loop computations can be performed by pure numerical methods [33,34,35,36,37,38,39,40,44,41,42,43,44,139]. It will be interesting to see how numerical methods will develop in the future, given the robust seminumerical nature of the OPP approach and recent attempts to automate it [17,124].…”

“…In conjunction with two-particle unitarity cuts, Eq. (6.37) can be used to obtain the color decomposition of a quark-loop contribution to one-loop gluon-gluon scattering amplitude 38) where n f is the number of quark flavors. In QCD the full one-loop n-gluon amplitude is the sum of the right hand sides of Eq.…”

“…Sample of LO and NLO rates for triple-vector-boson production, possibly within cuts and in association with one jet, at the 13-TeV LHC; we also report the integration errors, and the fractional scale (left) and PDF (right) uncertainties. See [283,358]. The complete set of triple-vector-boson cross sections at the NLO is also available in VBFNLO [244].…”

“…While double gauge-boson production gives access to the triple gauge couplings, triple gauge-boson production processes allow to investigate quartic gauge couplings. The QCD corrections to the production of three heavy gauge bosons have been calculated [1], in some cases including the leptonic decays, and turn out to be fairly large. The corrections to WW γ and ZZγ production at the LHC have also become available recently [2] and are sizeable.…”
