Qualitative Detection Toward Military and Improvised Explosive Vapors by a Facile TiO2 Nanosheet-Based Chemiresistive Sensor Array

Abstract: A facile TiO 2 nanosheets-based chemiresistive gas sensor array was prepared to identify 11 kinds of military and improvised explosive vapors at room temperature. The morphology of TiO 2 nanosheets was well-controlled by adjusting the concentration of HF applied during the preparation. Owing to the morphology difference, the TiO 2 nanosheet-based sensors show different response values toward 11 kinds of explosives, which is the basis of the successful discriminative identification. This method owes lots of adv… Show more

“…As an example of combining data from AR devices and IoT sensors to achieve better robustness, we can use high-quality data from IoT cameras to provide the existing viewpoints used in the auxiliary-assisted multi-view ensembler step. of illegal drugs [57] and explosives [106], which could all be incorporated into ambient IoT sensors. IoT-based monitoring of ambient acoustic signals [141] could be used to improve acoustic-based context detection for audio sources that are located far from the microphones of the AR devices.…”

“…Due to the escalating terrorism situation, fast and accurate detection of explosives has come to be a major global challenge [ 33 ]. In their illicit explosive devices, terrorists employ both less potent homemade explosives made of readily available commercial chemicals as well as powerful military explosives.…”

“…In their illicit explosive devices, terrorists employ both less potent homemade explosives made of readily available commercial chemicals as well as powerful military explosives. Military explosives include 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT), hexogen (RDX), dinitrotoluene (DNT), and other nitro-explosives, and their chemical structures are shown in Figure 9 [ 33 ].…”

“…Alternatively, Li et al developed a TiO 2 nanosheet-based gas sensor array targeting 11 explosives, including potassium nitrate, potassium chlorate, potassium permanganate, sulfur, ammonium nitrate, and urea. [39] The chemiresistive sensor array demonstrated differentiation of the target organic and inorganic fuels and oxidizers with response times on the order of tens of seconds. A small set of interferents was investigated, however, the relatively low selectivity of the sensor has the potential for burdensome levels of false positive detections.…”
