Abstract. In recent times, the importance of occupational health and safety has escalated for modern enterprises. This shift can be attributed to the emergence of the COVID-19 virus, which compelled numerous businesses to adopt crisis management strategies and embrace remote work arrangements. It can be argued that the pandemic necessitated employers to implement suitable health and safety measures in order to sustain their operations in the labor market. The objective of this study is to evaluate occupational risks, considering the implications arising from the pandemic, and subsequently assess the provision of safe and hygienic conditions during this period. It is important to note that workplace hygiene requirements can vary based on the company, industry, and job role. Different work environments will entail distinct hygiene demands, and certain occupations or industries may even entail additional risks warranting extra protection. Hence, the assessment focused solely on production positions such as machine operators, fitters, quality inspectors, and warehouse workers.

Improving product sustainability is challenging in times of climate change. The research aimed to develop a method for sustainable product development in a circular economy. The SMARTER method was used to determine analysis objectives and select a team of experts. Quality levels were analyzed for selected products to identify incompatibilities, which were then analyzed sequentially to determine possible causes using brainstorming, Ishikawa diagrams, and multiple voting. The correlation matrix was used to analyze indirect causes impacting the environment. The main causes were selected based on their negative impact on the environment and degree of influence on the problem. The proposed method aims to improve product quality and customer satisfaction while promoting sustainable product development.

Abstract. The low-carbon steels offer economical properties of mean hardness, strength, and low corrosion resistance, but the steel can be welded without restrictions, usually. The structural low carbon steels have a ferritic-perlitic microstructure. The microstructure depends on the manufacturing technology and heat treatments of steel. This steel is not intended for heat treatment. However, due to the technological process, which is welding, the material often overheats. This overheating causes microstructure growth. The effect of larger grains of the steel microstructure is the reduction of its functional properties. Corrosion resistance is an essential factor in structural steel’s quality and application. The purpose of this article is to investigate corrosion resistance using weight loss and profile roughness parameters of typical structural steel in grade S235JR in 2.5% sulphuric acid solution in distilled water. Samples were tested after normalizing and superheating annealing. Corrosion tests show that continued corrosion characterizes tested steel in both corrosive environments. Roughness parameters for every one of the research times determine the size of steel corrosion.
