Quality of a life skills training program in Karnataka, India - a quasi experimental study

“…The LS program adopted in this study integrated mental models, communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving, positive thinking and conflict resolutions in addition to different kinds of management skills; all these themes are usually used by university counselors through adopting the brief psychodynamic model that proved to enhance students' self-satisfaction and decrease their internalising behaviours of anxiety and depression (Riva Crugnola et al, 2020). Hence, similar to other studies, Khotwa intervention proved its potential in enhancing students' abilities to cope with those challenging situations happening in Lebanon, increasing their level of self-esteem (Esmaeilinasab et al, 2011;Pradeep et al, 2019) and decreasing their level of stress about finding a job by guiding them on how to search for a job and the adequate techniques to be prepared for the labour market. For instance, after 3 months of implementing the training, participants had superior feelings about themselves, less personal problems and a strong ability to build healthier mental well-being, as compared to students who did not participate in the program.…”
