An increasing number of services and facilities that are of interest to users is based on video streaming. Technical characteristics of video have a strong impact on the quality of a video streaming service and its perception by users. The most important measure of quality, which focuses on the user, is the Quality of Experience (QoE). Given that video advertising is a typical video streaming application, it is necessary to analyze the effect of the change of video characteristics on the QoE. This paper examines the impact of resolution and frame rate change on the QoE level by using objective and subjective QoE metrics. It also looks at the possibility of mapping the ob jective QoE metrics into subjective ones, if the QoE in Internet video advertising is analyzed. It was demonstrated that the values obtained by the objective assessment of quality can be mapped to the results obtained by subjective assessment of quality when the quality of experience of linear in-stream video ads is analyzed. The results indicate that temporal aspects of video quality assessment, e.g. infl uence of resolution and frame rate change to the level of the QoE, can be achieved by implementation of objective methods. Therefore, quality of experience can be improved by the proper selection of video characteristics values.

Abstract. This paper presents a novel context-aware methodology for modelling and measuring user-perceived quality of experience (QoE) over time. In particular, we create a context-aware model for QoE modelling and measurement using dynamic Bayesian networks (DBN) and a context-aware state-space approach. The proposed model is then used to infer and determine users' QoE in a sequential manner. We performed experimentation to validate the proposed model. The results prove that it can efficiently model, reason and measure QoE of the users'.

The use of end-to-end communication systems as a medium of delivery for electronic healthcare (eHealth) services is considered to be uncertain, with respect to its reliability leading to hesitation in acceptance of such services. There exist different influential dimensions that pose stringent requirements on end-to-end communication systems, influence user perception and might hinder user acceptance. The later is referred to as Quality of Experience (QoE), which among others depends on the Quality of Service (QoS) of the end-to-end communication system. QoE is considered as a key component determining user acceptance. This paper identifies and analyzes characteristics of a set of eHealth services and the influential dimensions resulting in different QoS requirements and potential impact of QoS on QoE. It highlights the role of QoS and QoE for acceptance of these services. The issue of non-uniform views regarding QoS parameter specifications and related requirements, clinically acceptable thresholds and their qualitative representation in eHealth literature is reviewed and presented
