Background: Leukemia is among the major causes of mortality and disability and the seventh most prevalent cancer worldwide. It has various effects on the biopsychosocial, reproductive, and economic performance of individuals. This study compared the Quality of Life (QoL) of hospitalized patients with different leukemia. Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study. In total, 100 adolescent patients with leukemia hospitalized in Ayatollah Khansari Hospital in Arak City, Iran, were selected by purposive sampling method. The samples were evaluated for six months in 2018. The required data were collected by EORTC-QLQ-C30 Quality of Life questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics (Mean±SD and frequency) and Chi-squared test, Fisher's exact test, and t-test in SPSS. P≤0.5 was considered as significant. Results: The overall QoL Mean±SD score was 62.2±12.59, which was at a relatively appropriate level. The Mean±SD scores of life quality were 60.10±14.31 for chronic lymphocytic leukemia, 59.51±12.83 for acute lymphocytic leukemia, 66.61±10.94 for chronic myeloid leukemia, and 62.84±6.33 for acute myeloid leukemia. There were significant differences between the total QoL and its dimensions in different leukemia types (P<0.05). There was also a significant relationship between age, residency, and marital status of the patients, and their total QoL (P<0.05). Conclusion: Patients with myeloid leukemia had a better QoL, compared to those with lymphocytic leukemia. The patients had better performance in the physical area and weaker performance in social domain. The knowledge of nurses and other healthcare members about these findings could be used to promote care and improve the QoL of patients with different leukemia types.

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most prevalent diseases caused by metabolic disorders and an important global challenge. Empowerment is a collaborative approach to diabetes care and patient education. In this study, our intention is to systematically review the effects of empowerment interventions in diabetic patients, in order to understand the impact of empowerment on diabetic patients, this study was conducted with the aim of doing this. Materials and Methods: In this systematic review, we used the articles published in the last 30 years regarding the results of empowerment interventions in patients with diabetes. It was conducted in English and Persian by searching articles in search engines, scholarly sites and databases Magiran, Google Scholar, Embase, ResearchGate, Sciencedirect, PubMed, Springer. In the first stage 40 articles were found. Of these, 15 related articles that have been published in the last 30 years have been reviewed. Results: In this study, 15 papers were reviewed the empowerment approach of diabetic patients increases the level of knowledge, Increasing self-efficacy and improving the quality of life of adolescents, Making positive changes in the overall scale of attitude towards the disease and the patient's independent independence scale, Improve self-esteem scores and self-care and reducing the amount of hemoglobin A1C, Improve overall self-care behaviors, Reducing Glycosylated Hemoglobin and Improving Quality of Life, Blood glucose control (decrease in HbA1c), and so on. Conclusion: The review of this review confirms the importance of empowerment-based interventions on increased control and self-care in diabetes patients in diabetic patients. Not paying attention to all dimensions of empowerment, not paying attention to the impact of demographic variables on empowerment, failure to follow up programs Lack of training by specialist staff and so on Can be seen by reviewing the results of the studies. Therefore, considering the broad concept of empowerment and as an effective approach to protecting patients with diabetes, its necessary these restrictions will be considered in future research.

Introduction: Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease which accounts for 15 percent of healthcare spending in the United States. Patients with diabetes have been reported to increase the risk of cancer by 20 to 25 percent compared to those without diabetes. In this study, we intend to examine the relationship between these two diseases by examining several studies. Therefore, this systematic review was conducted to determine the relationship between diabetes and cancer and the risk of developing cancer in diabetic patients. Materials and Methods: This study is a systematic review in order to achieve the goal of the study and to enhance the accuracy of its study and comprehension, this integrated overview study was conducted based on the Broome method. Broome's method is based on three steps in the search for texts, data evaluation and data analysis. So, in the search phase, post-retrospective study texts are examined in four stages in terms of inclusion criteria. After obtaining the conditions for entry into the study, the content of the study is evaluated and at the end of the data was analyzed. Results: Ten articles were reviewed in this study that There was an association between diabetes and cancer and a serious risk for cancer. One of these studies has shown that diabetes is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Analysis of all 20 researches that studied in this study. Showed that women with diabetes (versus diabetic men) had a 20 percent increased risk of breast cancer. Conclusion: There was a serious relationship between diabetes and various types of cancer in this study. Therefore, patients with diabetes need to have a special diet and take the necessary precautions. It should also be emphasized on the screening of breast cancer and other types of cancer by conducting tests and diagnostic work for the rapid diagnosis of cancer among diabetic patients. That to be provided the possibility of early detection of cancer and reduce mortality.
