“…Considering what was shown by the correlation analysis, participants who devoted a higher number of days to VPE and MPE during lockdown had a better mental health status; they tend to represent themselves as less depressed and more satisfied than people with a lower frequency of physical exercise. Staying on this topic, the findings of the present study are in line with multiple studies that have pointed out how indoor physical exercise has presented a massive protective factor for health during the national lockdown [34,35], even for older subjects [36,37] and other fragile categories [38][39][40][41]. It is also reasonable to consider that some exercise habits, such as outdoor exercise, can be less healthy considering the role of environmental pollutants after the end of the lockdown measures and its effect observed on indoor and outdoor workers [42,43].…”

“…Strengthening the mechanistic understanding of neurodegeneration and its correlation with epigenetics, as is demonstrated in the 5xFAD model, will likely provide new insights pointing out the importance for the healthy lifestyle in the individuals at risk for AD. Results obtained in animal models must be validated in human beings but, noteworthy confirmation for epigenetic alterations in AD patients (Narayan and Dragunow, 2017 ) and the goodness of an improved lifestyle (diet, exercise, etc; Chouliaras et al, 2010 ; Ricci et al, 2018 ) is day by day more robust, evidencing the interrelation between neurodegeneration and epigenetics.…”

“…On the other hand, the main driving force of senescence process is the differential regulation of gene expression by epigenetic mechanisms (López-Otín et al, 2013 ). Moreover, a distinctive and critical influence of diet, Environmental Enrichment (EE) or exercise have emerged as strategies that correlate preventing cognitive decline and improving quality of life (Ricci et al, 2018 ).…”

“…There is a considerable increase in musculoskeletal disorders and ailments due to the increase in the elderly population, which has led to disabilities and the use of steroids and anti-inflammatory drugs over the counter. Regenerative orthopaedics has changed this scenario with the application of stem cells and synthetic materials, leading to an interest in new studies [21].…”
