Quality of service and denial of service

Abstract: We argue that most forms of internet QoS must provide protection against DoS attacks. To date, the most cost-effective way of improving the treatment of some traffic has been to improve the treatment of all traffic. In a well-provisioned network, protection from DoS is essentially what defines QoS. QoS is not about the typical case; it is about the worst case.Researchers have all too often assumed "normal network conditions" and developed forms of QoS that do not take into account adversarial considerations. We… Show more

“…Internet Service Provider (ISP) ( Petrova (2003) ; Wu et al (2010) ) competes in providing the best internet service to achieve customer satisfaction. According to Stremersch and Tellis (2002) and Yang (2004) high-speed data transmission requires an application to connect consumers to the internet which will allow di erent quality QoS ( Shalunov and Teitelbaum (2003) ; Kolhar et al (2016) ) networks. By providing the best quality service ( Bandung and Sumardi (2016) ; Fang et al (2018) ; Puspita FM and Taib BM (2013) ), ISP can get the maximum bene t by providing the best quality information to serve users.…”
