Objectives Simulated patient (SP) methodology (mystery shopping) is used increasingly to assess quality of pharmacy services, and evaluate impact of interventions. Our objective was to review papers reporting on the use of SP methodology in pharmacy practice research 2006-2016 in community pharmacies worldwide. Methods We searched EMBASE and MEDLINE for papers reporting on the use of mystery shopping in pharmacy settings, using a wide range of terms for SPs, based on previous review. We removed irrelevant papers, duplicates, papers not written in English, and review papers and reviewed remaining papers. Two reviewers carried out data abstraction, using the same tool as the previous review and inserting data into Excel, focusing on how the SP methodology is used. Key findings A total of 148 papers from 52 countries from all regions of the world were included in the review. A wide range of terms described the method, and simulated patient was the most common (49 papers). Most studies were cross-sectional (124), and most investigated only community pharmacies (115). The most common aim was to evaluate some aspect of pharmacists' or other staff's advice and counselling (94). Number of visits is 2-7785. Many papers did not cover details, such as number of visits planned, and carried out, scenario used, training and background of SPs, and ethical approval for the study. Conclusions The use of SP methodology has increased substantially in the field of pharmacy over the past decade. This is a useful method in a wide range of countries and settings. Greater detail is required in reporting.

Ageing causes a decrease in cognitive and physical abilities, thus making the elderly more sensitive and vulnerable. Besides, the elderly' living conidtions are greatly affected by various diseases and other health-related problems. As is known, a large number of medicines are used to treat the health-related problems in elderly. Multiple drug use can be named as polypharmacy, though many definitions for "polypharmacy" are available in the literature. Many studies are available to explain the situation of the polypharmacy. Furthermore, there are many studies that confirm the prevalence of polypharmacy in several countries such as Brazil, the Netherlands, Sweden and Singapore. Health professionals involve in different stages of the health care services from the prescription until the usage of the drugs. Especially, pharmacists have significant role in informing the patients about rational use of drugs. It is known that the metabolism in geriatric patients changes with ageing. Therefore, medications, particularly polypharmacy, can cause serious side effect in geriatric patients. However, effective communication between the pharmacists and the patient and reasonable intervention by the pharmacist could prevent the negative effects caused by medications. In addition, an ethical perspective is crucial for considering geriatric patients' benefit.

САЖЕТАКУвод: Број нових ОТЦ препарата који се појављују на тржишту налази се у сталном порасту, што фармацеутима отежава поступак издавања, нарочито у погледу превенције потенцијалних интеракција у које ти препа-рати могу да ступе са другим лековима, с обзиром да о интеракцијама нових ОТЦ пре-парата нема довољно информација.Циљ: Испитивање проблема са којима се фармацеути срећу приликом издавања ОТЦ препарата и предлагање конкретних идеја и начина за унапређење система откривања интеракција ОТЦ препарата.Испитаници и метод: Истраживање је спроведено у складу са методолошким прин-ципима технике номиналне групе. У оквиру истраживања спроведена су два састанка номиналне групе са фармацеутима запосле-ним у јавним апотекама. У току састанака модератор истраживања је испитаницима постављао одређена питања, на које су испи-таници одговарали. Како би се испитала сагласност испитаника око сваке појединачне тврдње, испитаници су на крају оба састанка постављене тврдње анонимно оцењивали по принципима Ликертове скале. Састанци су снимани и аудио записи састанака су касније коришћени за квалитативну анализу података.Резултати: У истраживању је учествова-ло 9 фармацеута -7 фармацеута женског пола и 2 мушког пола, просечне старости 25,0±1,0 година. Учесници номиналне групе су на са-станцима изнели 30 тврдњи на 7 постављених истраживачких питања, при чему је након другог састанка сагласност постигнута за 29 тврдњи. Квалитативна анализа добијених података указала је на постојање 3 категорије тврдњи: (1) знање фармацеута о интеракција-ма ОТЦ препарата, (2) проблеми са којима се они сусрећу приликом издавања ОТЦ препа-рата и (3) могућности унапређења система за превенцију и откривање интеракција ОТЦ препарата.Закључак: За адекватну превенцију интеракција ОТЦ препарата са другим леко-вима неопходно је израдити водичеса смер-ницама које се односе на правилан поступак издавања ОТЦ препарата и редовно користи-ти «проверавач интеракција»(енгл. interaction checker).Кључне речи: фармацеут, ОТЦ препара-ти, интеракције, interaction checker-и.Милосављевић Н.
