Quantification and Determination of Stability of Tylvalosin in Pig Plasma by Ultra-High Liquid Chromatography with Ultraviolet Detection

Abstract: Tylvalosin (TV) is a macrolide antibiotic that is used for treating respiratory and enteric bacterial infections in swine and in poultry. In the coming years, the use of this drug will probably be widely studied in different species, but before its use in each veterinary species, macrolide analytical determination in various biological fluids is a pre-requisite step for the rational dose calculation of TV based on specific pharmacokinetic information. Its quantification is essential for detecting and avoiding … Show more

“…Macrolides are an important group of antimicrobial agents targeting ribosomal synthesis in sensitive gram‐positive and some gram‐negative bacteria (Abo El‐Ela et al, 2015; Hernandis et al, 2022). Macrolides are widely used in veterinary medicine because of their safety, fast and wide tissue distribution after parenteral as well as oral administration (Hernandis et al, 2022; Kanoh & Rubin, 2010).…”

The newest member of macrolides tylvalosin, a derivative of tylosin, is synthesized by changing the 3‐acetyl‐40‐isovaleryl group to acetylisovaleryl tylosin tartrate group in tylosin (Elbadawy et al, 2019; Stuart et al, 2007; Zhao et al, 2014).…”
